16" x 20". SLL Bill Chappell. Western landscape focusing on buffalo in a field with a distant mountain range in the background. Bill Chappell (b. 1919) grew up as a West Texas ranch hand and experienced all the hardships and joys known to cowboys of a passing era. This cowboy is a multi-talented person and an artist as well. Combine the two and the result is authentic Western scenes captured on canvas. He became an avid oil painter after moving to Colorado in 1953. This oil on canvas is a perfect example of what Chappell knows as an artist, the West. Minor craquelure and miniscule retouching. Small crack/ imprint in center.
