A miniature replica of the 1784 Portsmouth home of New Hampshire's first elected governor, built to 1/12 scale with many architectural details by craftsman Bob Bartlett in 1980. The elegant Georgian facade features elaborate fluted pilasters, dentilated cornices, three dormer windows, two massive chimneys, individually applied shake shingles, and a copper-roofed portico with railing (some damage). The front facade lifts off to reveal four rooms and the central staircase and halls. The rear of the house is viewed through an acrylic glass panel revealing four additional rooms, and the roof lifts up for access to two attic rooms and the electrical system. The interior features beautifully proportioned rooms, several with raised paneling, polished hardwood floors, a wealth of moldings, and retaining electrified lighting fixtures, some pictures and petit point bell pulls, all providing an exceptional showcase for fine artisan miniatures.
