Oil on canvas. Signed "LL, Guy Carleton Wiggins". (American, 1883-1962). Guy was born in Lyme, CT and was educated there at his father's (John Carleton Wiggins) Art School. Before he settled on a career as a painter, the younger Wiggins worked with the Foreign Service. After taking an early retirement for the job, he entered the Art Students League in New York, followed by a course of study in the Artists' Colony of Old Lyme. Wiggins is best known for his Impressionist snow scenes and Connecticut landscapes. This vibrant, attractively presented painting features a New York City snowy street scene with cars, buses, and pedestrians. Provenance: Unknown.
