Made by the Ladies Sewing Society of the Central Moravian Church of Bethlehem, PA. beginning in 1872 and still being made. Hand-painted face and hair, all original clothing with crocheted cap, pink checked cotton dress, dimity pinafore, (light soil spot on dress and apron) cotton shift, slip and panties, black stockings, replaced shoes. This doll featured in the article on Polly Heckewelder in the 2003 Doll Collectors of American booklet “Benefit Dolls.” She dates from 1915-1925 and was painted by Clara Turner. Very unusual painted corkscrew curls.

Condition: (Excellent).
