German bisque socket head incised “C ½ made in Germany 7 ½ 171” by J. D. Kestner. This is “Daisy” the Ladies Home Journal premium doll given in 1911 for selling three subscriptions. She has the requisite blue sleeping eyes, (no upper eyelashes), multi-stroked eyebrows, painted lower eyelashes, open mouth, chin dimple, replaced blonde mohair wig, original Kestner jointed composition body. Lovely vintage flowered shift, replaced underwear, three additional dresses. Seldom see one of these Daisy dolls for sale. Sweet face on this one.
