Marion Kaulitz, Munich, Germany. 1908-1912. These child dolls were part of the Puppen Reform Movement, advocating dolls with faces and clothing that looked like real children, particularly the peasant children from the country who visited the city markets. Composition face with hand-painted features (small nose, chin and cheek rubs) and round dark eyes with highlight, rosy cheeks, closed down-turned mouth, lovely original blonde mohair wig with single braid and bow in back. Original and excellent jointed composition body. Original hat and head scarf, white cotton shift and light brown jumper (light wear), stockings and shoes. Fresh to the market from a long established collection. Very desirable, rarely found doll.
