Shows Moffet in Indianapolis uniform throwing a pitch with right hand. This picture is glued to a cardboard frame and is marked "Copyrighted Goodwin & Company NY 1888" and "Moffet P., Indpls.". Moffet was a pitcher for Indianapolis and his nickname was "Dad". He was born in 1857, was 6' tall, weighed 175 pounds, and died in 1907. Moffet played for the Blues and the Hoosiers from 1884 to 1888 as an outfielder and pitcher. Sam was one of the four Moffet Brothers in baseball and in one year hit over .400. Moffet also pitched in the infamous Cap Anson - Moses Fleetwood Game against the National League Champion's Chicago White Stockings in which Cap Anson threatened to boycott the game if Moses Fleetwood, an African-American player, played in the game. Fleetwood did play in this game, calling Anson's bluff, and the game went on. After his baseball career, Moses went on to become a successful minor, mining silver and gold with his brothers.
