Circa 1850 to 1870. Beautifully etched with floral designs. 1 - 1/2" wide border completely around the base, with etched panels of prayers, highlights decorated with gold and silver damascening. Original chain mail chainmail neck defense, still intact. Steel in very good condition, hardly no wear to the etching, and minimal to light pitting in places. A few tears in the chainmail, commensurate with use, gold and silver is very rubbed (perhaps 35% still present) and silver is tarnished black.
