Circa late 19th century. Steel bowl beautifully enhanced and embellished with brass plates, high relief embossing, and floral designs. The front of the helmet is decorated with a shield encompassing a three-masted ship, surmounted by a fleur de lis. Above the shield is a crown with four castle keeps. Beautifully high raised comb encompassing a beautiful face and floral designs. Leather chin straps are covered with laminated brass scales and inside of helmet still has its original leather liner. Original decorative horse hair is still intact and all brass has a beautiful patina.
