Jack Doscher, who was the oldest living Dodger, played in the majors from 1903 to 1908 with three different teams as a pitcher. He was born in 1880 in Troy, NY and died in 1971 in Park Ridge, NJ. Lot includes a baseball poster from the 1970 Old-timers Game with Casey Stengel's all-time Yankees team. Poster is autographed by 31 members including HOFers Phil Rizzuto, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, Bill Dickey, Ford Frick, and Casey Stengel himself. Poster is professionally framed and personally signed by media relations person Jacki Farrell of the New York Yankees Organization. Inscribed "To Jack Droscher, the old Dodge Lefty and oldest living one. God Bless, Jackie Farrell”. Depicts photos of players wearing Yankee uniforms from their playing days. Poster has been folded and does have some creasing and wear. Some of the signatures have lightened due to age but poster is surely a one-of-a-kind item. Lot also includes two personal letters from President Harry S. Truman, with mailing envelopes, answering Mr. Doscher in 1955 for a baseball cartoon that was sent to him. There is a testimonial cartoon from 1960 for 60 years of Public Service—inscribed to Mr. Doscher from the Bergen County Democratic Club. Next item included is a letter from the New York Mets public relations department from 1962 inviting Mr. Doscher to come to an old-timers game and throw out the first ball along with an original negative and corresponding newspaper photo depicting this event. The last letter included is from the New York Yankees public relations department to Mr. Doscher in 1966 inviting him to a 25 year anniversary old-timers game for the 1941 Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series teams. Also, includes a black and white photograph of Mr. Doscher with Jackie Farrell with other baseball dignitaries for Jackie Farrell Day at Yankee stadium. Comes with three LOAs from PSA/DNA from 2004: one for the poster signatures and one for each of the President Truman autographs. Overall, this is an incredible lot.
