Overall length: 51 – ½”. Barrel length: 36”. Half stock single barrel percussion shotgun with J.P. Lower lock and “Phila.” Marked round barrel. Walnut stock with checkered wrist. Lower is listed in Philadelphia in 1859, but moved west with the fur trade where he is known for his "Plains" rifles. Scarce early example. Pitting at breech. Original stock finish.
