The following caps have had names embossed on their leather sweatbands. The caps are original World War II US Army officer's caps, but we are of the opinion that the names have been added post period. Consists of: A) High grade and fine quality cap marked by the maker "Rosenfield Uniform Co", the name "Gen. L. J. McNair" has been embossed on the sweatband. CONDITION: Excellent. B) Fine quality cap, interior marked "Dobbs Fifth Avenue", sold at the Post Exchange, Fort Benning Georgia, embossed on the sweatband "Henry H. Arnold". CONDITION: Very good with minor wear to the interior. C) Interior marked by maker "Knox", stiffener removed, the name "Capt Frank Kurtz" has been embossed on the leather sweatband. CONDITION: Very good, leather sweatband partially detached. D) Interior marked by maker "Dobbs Fifth Avenue", the initials "D.D.E. 0-3822" have been embossed on the sweatband. CONDITION: Very good with minor wear to the sweatband. E) No maker, stiffener removed, the name "Brig General L.L. Lemnitzer" has been embossed on the sweatband. CONDITION: Excellent. F) Interior marked by the maker "Bailey's Inc", the name "Gen Francis Gerard" has been embossed on the sweatband. CONDITION: Very good. G) Interior marked by the maker " Dobbs Fifth Avenue", stiffener removed, the name "C. E. Lemay" has been embossed on the sweatband. CONDITION: Very good. H) Interior marked by the maker "Dobbs Fifth Avenue" , stiffener removed, the name "Spaatz 0-3706" has been embossed on the sweatband. CONDITION: Very good, showing moderate service wear. I) Interior maker marked "Made in England by J. Collett Ltd London. Expressly for The United States Forces in European Operations", the name "T. Roosevelt Jr" has been embossed on the sweatband. CONDITION: Excellent. J) Interior maker marked "Davysons Karachi India", stiffener removed, soft leather visor, gold embroidered eagle insignia. The sweatband has been embossed with the name "C. L. Chennault" . CONDITION: Fair, showing general wear and use.
