Consists of: Cased set of World War I U.S. Navy full dress fore and aft hat, epaulettes and sword belt identified to Lieutenant Commander William E Lawhead, USN Medical Corps. The fore and aft hat is lined with black silk and maker marked “K. Kusafuji Yokohama”. Gold bullion epaulettes marked by the same maker on their brass tongues. Black cloth sword belt with two-piece brass buckle. Set is in very good condition showing minor wear and toning. Housed in a leather case showing moderate wear and replaced straps: 75mm shell engraved with crossed American and French flags and engineer castle: 75mm shell engraved “Somme 1917”: Pair USMC sergeants chevrons, souvenir glass fragment from Verdun Cathedral and Marksman bar engraved on the reverse “Jno D. Ray Sgt Mjr USMC 1918”: “War of 1917” artillery pillow cover: Pair of leather and fur mittens: Two wool garrison caps: Cast iron frame displaying patriotic motifs: Model 1917 helmet painted with vivid camouflage colors, missing its liner: Leather .30 caliber cartridge box with “US” embossed face: Leather eagle snap .45 clip pouch dated 1913 on the reverse: Bronze medal measuring 2” X 2-5/8”, the front marked “Lorraine”, the reverse with a cross of Lorraine: Liberty Loan Committee Toledo Ohio badge: Victory Medal: Various Liberty Loan pins: Mess kit dated 1917, the reverse engraved “3rd Aero Sqdn Manila P.I.”: KIA affects bags. All items in very good or better condition.
