MILLS NOVELTY CO. “20TH CENTURY” ONE DOLLAR UPRIGHT SLOT MACHINE
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/23/2026
C. 1900-1905. MANUFACTURER: Mills Novelty Company, Chicago, Illinois. This Mills “20th Century” upright slot machine is configured in the scarce one-dollar denomination, one of the most desirable and elusive versions within the 20th Century floor model line. Introduced at the turn of the century, the 20th Century was among Mills’ most visually impressive upright gaming machines. High-denomination examples were produced in far smaller quantities than nickel and quarter models, as one-dollar play was intended for more upscale gambling establishments and carried significant wagering value for the era. Provenance: Fresh to the Market. This slot was purchased from the Glen Larson collection over 35 years ago and has been in the Dauer family collection since that time. With only 3 known examples of this $1 20th Century slot, it could easily be another generation before one is offered again. CONDITION: Restored; overall presentation is strong, with cabinet refinished and castings re-plated. Plays and Pays correctly. From the collections of Drs. Joanne and Edward Dauer.
This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.Condition: (Restored).
Item Dimensions: 29" x 20 - 1/2" x 65".
