C. 1850-1880s. A fantastic Palais Royal scent caddy with mother-of-pearl shells forming a decorative outer casing, combined with the ornate brass mounting in the shape of a helmet. The caddy sits on an alabaster base and opens to reveal two clear-cut perfume bottles with sun-shaped hinged caps, the cap medallions featuring floral mother-of-pearl motifs. The scent caddy is in great condition. 3 - 1/2" x 5" x 5".
