19th century, American. The box was meant to house a complete tennis set. The interior label is nearly mint and portrays Victorian men and women playing tennis outside a mansion. The label is marked "Milton Bradley & Co Springfield Mass". The exterior of the box is clean; the original hardware has been removed but is included. CORRECTION: Label may be a re-strike.
