This extremely well made full size recreation of an Indian Wars period ammunition limber for a Gatling gun was custom built by the master carriage builders of Uncommon Arms, taking some 2,500 man hours to complete. The semi-gloss polyurethane finished white oak ammunition box is solidly built with steel supports affixed with brass screws, containing 7 adjustable ammunition compartments and boldly marked on the rear with script "GATLING'S BATTERY GUN" decal. The carriage rides on a pair of 53" ash spoked wheels with steel tires on 4 - 1/2" axels. Carriage is complete with oak foot board, stand, a pair of oak tongues, and appropriate hardware. CONDITION: Near excellent, showing only light evidence of use. While this limber would make an excellent accessory for any Gatling gun, it was specifically constructed to accompany the previous lot, a wonderful Valley Engraving M1878 Gatling Battery Gun.
