DSP. An absolutely outstanding example of this Circa 1930's Porcelain Service Station Sign from Conoco Gasoline, one of the finest examples we have sold. Sign shows the iconic Conoco Minuteman Soldier graphic as well as bright blue, yellow and red porcelain colors. CONDITION: Side one shows outstanding color and gloss throughout the field with a super clean Minuteman graphic as well as bright lettering and nice shelving between each color. Side one shows one pencil eraser size chip in the leg of the Minutemen graphic as well as two small pencil eraser size chips in the outer field. The outer edge of side one is extremely clean showing only minor chipping at the top mounting hole. Overall side one displays outstanding and is bright and glossy, Grade 8.9+. Side two is also in outstanding condition showing excellent color and gloss throughout the field with a near mint Minutemen graphic. Side two shows three pencil eraser sized chips in the outer field as well as one minor area of stress chipping at the left edge. Side two shows a very clean outer edge with minimal chipping at the top mounting hole, Grade 8.75+. Sign shows its original grommet at the top mounting hole and overall would be very tough to improve upon. A beautiful example of one of the most iconic Signs of the Gas & Oil hobby.
