Lot #3059:
RARE AUTOMATIC TARGET MACHINE CO. "RAY-O-LITE" RIFLE ARCADE GAME
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/7/2024
C. 1905. The Automatic Target Machine Co. This original Automatic Target Machine rifle game was an improvement over their-lollipop style cast iron target pedestal with the Bulls Eye target. That target showed missed shots that popped up, and then a second or two later they dropped back, just outside the Bullseye ring. This dry cell battery-operated target machine will perform the same way, as the bullet hole will appear in the target when the rifle is shot. This updated cabinet model had eight other added unique target features that also supply similar action. And if you missed, the reverse painted top sign lights up and shows you missed. When alternating electric current became more common, this machine fell out of favor. An AC-powered revamp by William Gent was introduced in the 1920s. None of those known machines had this cabinet or these unique added targets found in this machine. Several of those revamps survived and you may still see a William Gent revamp today. CONDITION: This very rare arcade machine may be the only known survivor with an original target cabinet. All original working condition, and with an added cord extension to provide ample room to move the cord outside the line of traffic. Cabinet must be 17’ from rifle stand for target geometry to be accurate. Light wear, operational, and a rare find, fresh to market.
This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
