DSP. Very rare C. 1930's Porcelain Sign for Lion Petroleum Products showing early "Lion On Rock" graphic with black outer band. A product of Lion Oil Company, El Dorado, Arkansas. CONDITION: Side one shows excellent color & gloss throughout the field showing numerous small chips throughout the inner field as well as one larger chip in the lower right. The black outer band shows excellent script with minimal chipping and the outer edge is excellent, Grade 7.9+. Side two also shows excellent color & gloss throughout but shows heavier chipping in the inner & outer field as well as some minor cloudiness in the orange. The outer black band shows chipping with well displaying script and the outer edge shows light wear, Grade 7.5. Sign is mounted in what appears to be the original ring which shows an excellent original patina. A well displaying piece of rare Signage from Lion Gasoline.
Condition: (7.9+ & 7.5).
