C. 1904. This magnificent toy has six gondolas, stained glass, original figures, and is to some considered one of the most beautiful tin toys ever made. Of the few known examples in the world, this example has unmatched provenance, tracing it back to the original Brooklyn, New York family, whose family member was an employee of a Brooklyn department store, who received it when the store closed down before WWI. Included are copies of c. 1910s photographs of the family's Christmas display, which also include other fine toys of the era. It then was purchased at Sotheby's by Mr. Sage with the reproduced photographs in 1994. Also included is a cut out article from a 1994 Maine Antique Digest by Dorothy S. Gelatt commenting on the sale, as well as the Sotheby's tag and receipt from the 1994 sale. CONDITION: One original flag and original figures; other flags are replacements. Some enhancement to pink on arms of Ferris wheel. Music box cover has been masterfully restored, being that it was overpainted when first acquired. Excellent condition.

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
