SSP. One of the most iconic & highly sought after Signs in all of Gas & Oil. This beautiful C. 1920's Porcelain Neon Sign from Polly Gasoline shows incredible porcelain detailing in the colors and lights up beautifully in neon along the edges and at the lettering. A product of Wilshire Oil Company, Los Angeles, California. CONDITION: Sign shows outstanding color & gloss throughout the field as well as at the tail and Polly Gas script. The top side shows no areas of field chipping with only a minimal amount of light touch up at the mounting hole in the Parrots wing. The outer edge of the topside shows only minimal wear and displays excellent. The "Polly Gas" portion of the sign also shows outstanding color & gloss throughout showing no chipping in the inner field and only a minimal amount of light spider webbing in the porcelain at the outer field. The outer edge shows one light chip above the "Y" of Polly. This portion of the Sign shows two added neon holes, one at the left and one at the right. The holes are drilled perfectly and appear factory but they are new and are what allow for the "Polly" lettering to show neon. The tail portion is also in very good condition but shows one line of touch up at the topside from the top of the mounting hole across to the other side. The remaining feathers in the lower sign are in excellent condition and the bottom edge shows only minimal wear. Sign is mounted on a newly made can which displays the piece incredibly well and is in ready to hang condition. Sign lights up in green, yellow & red neon and displays incredibly. A beautiful example of this rare and highly sought after sign from Polly Gasoline.
