Only 2,000 of this model were ordered an made by William Rose & Sons in Blockley Township, Pennsylvania. For another identical example, see page 77 of "Swords and Sword Makers of the War of 1812" by Richard H. Bezdek. The slightly curved blade has a single fuller on each side. The top of the spine, near the hilt is stamped "W. ROSE & SONS". The iron hilt is of the Hussar style and has a black leather wrapped grip secured with twisted brass wire. The sword is complete with its original Hussar scabbard of black leather and iron. CONDITION: Blade very good with light grey patina and some light scattered freckling with dark spots, markings excellent. Hilt retains a dark patina and grip is very good with its original black leather wrap, showing some flaking and crazing to surface. Scabbard very good with some crazing and flaking to surface. Iron mounts and border retain a dark brown patina with some scattered pitting. The survival rate of this model is very low, especially with its original scabbard. DMG.
