ST-61 manufactured by Rheinmetall for Romania. This example has been been fitted with an MG-15 air-cooled barrel, compared to the Romanian watercooled barrel. Fabricated as an MG-15 display gun by IMA, the receiver has been cut, nicely welded back together, and filled to negate any operation. Bolt and charging handle are still under spring tension, and can be manually operated. Receiver is marked "ST61" above the Rheinmetall logo and serial number, with the right side bearing an eagle proof followed by the date of manufacture "1942". Fixed stock retains its leather butt pad, as well as it's leather wrap. Fitted with a ventilated aluminum jacket bracket, which is complete with a 1943 dated bipod. Gun is complete with an original German 75 round MG-15 saddle drum magazine, as well as an unmarked anti-aircraft sight. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their applied black finish, exhibiting areas of some wear, flaking, as well as some scattered handling marks. Manufacturer markings on receiver are sharp. Areas of receiver that were cut and welded exhibit some minor weld marks, but are otherwise good. A nice and complete example of a Rheinmetall manufactured ST-61, converted to an MG-15. -MLW-
