This is a beautiful gold bar from Star Mining Company out of Rose Creek, California, which was in operation from 1870 to 1895. Serial number 521. 995 fine. 5.43 ounces. This gold ingot from the Rose Creek, California firm is virtually as nice as the day it was made, with bright yellow gold surfaces and excellent luster. Like a few other gold ingots from this firm, the name of the mining company is signified by a five-point star above the letters MINING Co. All of the identification markings are on the top or face of this ingot with the edges and bottom all unmarked. These bars are extremely rare.
Condition: Excellent.
