Nicely framed and matted railroad broadside advertising destinations available from the Pennsylvania Railroad main line. The "Panhandle Route" refers to the historic main line of the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad (PCC & StL), a key component of the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) system that connected Pittsburgh through West Virginia's Northern Panhandle to Ohio, splitting for Chicago and St. Louis/Indianapolis routes. Advertising the fastest and most direct through cars without change to western destinations like San Francisco and the Far West. A rare piece of early railroad ephemera.
Condition: Very fine with some slight age toning.
Item Dimensions: 17 - 1/4" x 20 - 1/4".
