U.S. Army M1889 "snowflake" vent campaign hat. Used during the late Indian Wars period to the Spanish American War. Retains original grosgrain band and wool cord around crown. CONDITION: 1 small 1/4" nick to brim and holes to each side of crown that accommodated a chinstrap. Sweatband is missing inside. Remnants of contract panel remains. Estimated size is 7. BRM.
