M1897 U.S. Army "star vent" campaign hat. These would have been worn during the Spanish-American War, Boxer Rebellion, and Philippine Insurrection period. Retains original grosgrain band, wool and bullion thread cord, and 6th Infantry crossed rifles insignia to the front. CONDITION: Excellent wool with no insect damage or stains, inside sweatband is missing. Majority of contract label remains with faded writing and Size 7 1/4 visible.
