Very nice WWII footlocker grouping that is ID'D to Captain Malcom Albert Bouton, who was a Doctor in the US Army during World War II. Bouton was commissioned as a first lieutenant in 1936 and continued to serve in the Army until the end of World War II. During the war, he was promoted to Captain, and served as the theater venereal disease control officer in India, where he helped conduct surveys for the Special Services. After the war he continued to practice medicine, as the many certificates that come with his footlocker show. The lot consists of (A) Bouton's four pocket officer's tunic with First Army and CBI shoulder patches. The tunic has nice officer's medical insignia and four bullion overseas bars on his lower left sleeve. There is a three piece ribbon bar above the wearer's left pocket that denote Capt. Bouton's theaters of service. The tunic has all of its original buttons except for one where the tunic's belt covered, which was typically replaced on these tunics. The belt is no longer present. There are a few scattered moth nips but the tunic is otherwise in very good condition. (B) Fine quality WWII officer's chocolate shirt with Fourth Service Command and CBI patches. The shirt retains all of its original buttons but exhibits heavy moth damage. (C) Fur coat made by d'Jimas furs that presumably belonged to Bouton's wife. The coat retains almost all of its original fur and has one significant 3" tear on the left arm. (D) Bouton's original framed officer's commission. All script is still legible with almost no fading and the frame is still sturdy. (E) 9 framed documents and photos that include Bouton's Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate dated 1936, A photo of Dr. Bouton at his desk, and various other medical and college documents that date up till 1968. All of Bouton's memorabilia is contained in his WWII Footlocker that displays "MAB" on the lid. The footlocker is in decent shape but has numerous scratches and dings. Overall a very nice documented WWII footlocker grouping. CONDITION: good-very good. JD
