German bisque socket head attributed to Carl Bergner with flat-domed head attached to the original body with papier mache bonnet and shoulder plate, arms with joints at the elbows and straight wrists, composition and wood lower legs with knee joints with a muslin-covered cloth torso and wearing a long pink gauze cotton and lace dress with matching lacy bonnet. The head is encased within the attached mache bonnet with a metal ring on the top. When turned, the facial expressions change and include a smiling face with open/closed smiling mouth with tiny molded and painted teeth, glass eyes; a scowling, crying child, with wrinkled eyebrows, scowling mouth with open/closed mouth with tongue tip showing and tiny tears molded to cheeks; and the third face, a sleeping expression with eyelids completely closed, a serene expression on the face. She has the original blonde mohair wispy bangs which stay stationary as the head is turned. CONDITION: Very good, surprisingly so as these usually have many cheek rubs or nose rubs from constant turning within the mache encasement.
Condition: (Very Good).
