1920, Germany. A reproducing Welte Piano built in the Freiburg, Germany plant. This is a tall upright version where the pumps and expression mechanism are located in the top portion. Welte mechanisms were built into most popular were Steinway, Feurich, and Ibach. This piano would have been a special order case with beveled mirrored front. This instrument was originally sold by Wilhelm Hohrath & Son as agents. Condition: The oak case shows a little wear form age and use. The mechanics of the piano are being driven by an add-on air source, and it plays well, however all or most of the original pneumatics exist in the upper portion of the cabinet. Includes four music rolls. From the Baus collection.
