Grips were removed for attachment. This pistol was developed by Molins Machine Company of London for use in World War II. It has a stamped steel frame resulting in significant weight reduction. It is a single shot, double action. Pistol carried various British proof marks. The standard No. 4 Mk I Pyrotechnic pistol is not particularly rear but the electronic contraption that was built to attach to this flare gun, which keeps the trigger in constant pull mode, allowed this to be plugged into electrical circuits to electronically fire the flares. This is the first device we have ever seen. Mounted to the inside of the RAF fighter planes. Has the original cord. Device is bolted onto grip frame. Survival rate of this flare gun out of surviving RAF fighter planes was extremely small and this is the first example we have seen or heard of. It would be a pinnacle item for the collector of rare flare guns and signal pistols.
