Group relating to Major Richard Bennett Creecy and his service with the Marine Corps in Haiti and during World War I. The group consists of: An Extensive File of original photographs, post cards, orders, transcripts of letters and newspaper clippings, all removed from a scrapbook, some retaining their original annotations, most in very good - excellent condition: Pass issued to Creecy by the Haitian Consul-General of Haiti in 1915: Copies of newspaper clippings relating to Creecy murdering his wife with an ax and committing suicide in 1930: Pre World War I Marine Officer's Visor Cap, with quatrefoil on the crown, screw-on Marine side buttons and officer's EG&A hat badge. Interior crown lining tattered, leather sweatband partially detached. Cap is in overall very good condition: Khaki Cotton Tunic, the collar displaying a pair of French-made EG&A officer's collar insignia, one showing casting flaws. Left breast displaying two sets of ribbon bars, 1905-06-07 Expert Rifleman badge, Pistol Expert badge and Victory Medal with "France" bar. Shoulder straps pinned with captains bars. Interior inked with the initials "CHG": Model 1912 Swivel Holster, reverse marked "Rock Island Arsenal 1914", in very good condition with supple leather and minor crazing: Pair Khaki Cotton Trousers showing moderate wear: Pair Of High Top Leather Officer's Boots in excellent condition: Leather Garrison Belt in very good condition:
