Group identified to Private Joseph Reed Peck Section 506, U.S. Army Ambulance Service. Peck enlisted on June 11, 1918, served in France from August 15, 1918 to May 28th, 1919. The group consists of: Wool tunic with Ambulance Service rooster patch, discharge chevron and three gold bullion overseas service chevrons, "US" and Medical Corps collar disks. Pinned to the chest are a Victory Medal with "St Mihiel", "Meuse Argonne" and "Defensive Sector" bars, U.S. Army Ambulance Association 1917-1919 medal, 1942 Ambulance Service reunion medal and a 1937 American Legion medal: Model 1917 helmet with lining but missing chin strap: Campaign hat with medical cords: Copies of his enlisted records: Three piece utensil set: folding cup and Dressing Packet dated 1917. Included is an identified Red Cross uniform which consists of: Officer's quality tunic with Red Cross patch, 3 black service stripes, pair "US" collar insignia and a pair of enameled Red Cross collar insignia. Lightly stamped on the lining is the name "Elder": Pair of matching trousers with tailors label from "Davies Bryan & Co / Cairo, Alexandria & Khartoum" and inked "Lt J.D. Elder": Soft top visor cap, sweatband embossed with an eagle, "Mes Felicitation", and stamped "Elder", silk crown lining. Also included is a March 1915 French Passport in the name of "Paul Haney" who is pictured wearing a Volunteer American Ambulance drivers uniform and an identity card for Haney issued by the "Ambulance of the American Hospital of Paris": Six original photographs of ambulances and drivers and correspondence relating to American Ambulances In Paris. Material displays a few small scattered holes and signs of moderate wear but is generally in very good condition.
