Standard US issue revolver with blue and case color with one piece walnut grips. Frame is stamped "US". All numbers matching including under the barrel and cylinder. Ainsworth inspector stamp on barrel, cylinder, trigger guard and backstrap. This was made during second year of production in 1874 which pre-dates the Custer battle. CONDITION: Some screws have been replaced. The cylinder and straps were refinished at one time and have been cleaned. The ejector shroud was replaced. All legends are sharp. Basically a clean grey gun. Grips had been refinished and are shy to metal with no visible cartouche. Action is sharp. The bore is sharp. An early US Colt that could have been in the battle. Handsome example. DB
