An interesting pistol, but clearly not the John Guest, Lancaster, PA, 1807-1808 contract flintlock, as that pistol resembles the pistol by Henry. The Guest pistols have Drepert lock, Drepert being spelled with one P, and marked at rear US. Drepert, also known as Dreppert, was a lock master in Lancaster. Unmarked round barrel with medium barrel throughout. Lock marked Dreppert. Cock from a British sea-service pistol. Loop butt, brass furniture of Kentucky style. CONDITION: Walnut full stock cracked through at ramrod pipe. Missing ramrod. Action is crisp, gun is original flint. One frizzen spring screw appears to be replaced. Type crack at rear of lock. Bore is fair. Pistol should be further researched.
