Lot consists of (A) Stephen Sandwell is recorded in London circa 1766 to 1781. Round, partially swamped brass barrel marked "SANDWELL MINORIES LONDON" with elaborate geometric and shell finial, with offset proofs marks, including view and proof marks and the Crowned "SS" recorded by Stockel on pg. 1105. Darkly stained wooden ramrod with trumpet head, retained by a turned balustrade ferrule with reinforced mouth. Slightly convex lock with chip border with bridled pan, friction frizzen, gooseneck cock, and English sliding safetty, decorated in a chipped border pattern. Silver trigger guard with English silver proofs for London .925 sterling circa 1759, but maker mark illegible. Trigger guard with florals on bow, and with acorn finial. Sideplate in the form of a stand of arms, with flags, cannon, and armor. Wrist with a raised shell motif and a vacant wrist escutcheon with shell finials, and a grotesque buttcap with silver proofs in mouth, difficult to decipher. CONDITIOON: Brass of a deep mustard color, with verdigris about the muzzle and touchhole. Lock with evidence of an old cleaning allowed to repatinate to a soft dove-grey. Stocks with two large chips replaced at muzzle, one approximately 2", the other 3", but well executed, with other scattered handling marks and impressions, heavier about barrel pins. Mechanically fine, cock likely a replacement as it does not fit form of pistol and does not interface with sliding safety, bore with appropriate oxidation for age. (B) David Collumbell is recorded in London circa 1735-1765. Swamped, round barrel in three stages with offset view and proof marks and a second crowned character, illegible. Large convex lock with chip borders signed "COLLUMBELL". Replacement horn tipped rampod retained by a turned ferrule and feeds into a reinforced mouth. trigger guard with simple shell motif on bow and a floral finial. Elaborately pierced sideplate with thin scrollwork retained by a pair of sidenails. Wrist with raised relief shell and a vacant plaque with floral finials. Buttcap with tiered pommel decorated with chip linework and long stirrups. CONDITION: Metal cleaned in the European fashion to bright metal with scattered oxidation throughout. Stock with numerous cracks and two splice repairs, one at tip of ramrod channel, approximately 1", and one at bottom tang, approximately 1/2" x 3/8". Mechanically fine, bore with appropriate age oxidation.
