High condition Baker Drilling made by the L.C. Smith Gun Company in Syracuse, New York from 1878 to 1888, with this being one of approximately 1200 built. 30" twist side by side 10 gauge barrels with smooth concave rib marked "L.C. SMITH MAKER OF BAKER GUN SYRACUSE, NY. STUB TWIST", small blade front sight, and rear graduated tang peep sight with .44 W.C.F. caliber rifle barrel. Case hardened action with double triggers, front is the opening mechanism for action, along with a switch for rifle or shotgun selection in front of front trigger. Checkered walnut pistol grip round knob stock with steel hardware and matching checkered fixed splinter forearm. CONDITION: Overall good with silvery visible twist pattern in barrels. 20% fading original case colors. Traces of original varnish with usage dings and marks, most noticeable in checkering on right grip with checkering starting to wear flat from use. Good bores with excellent mechanics.
