Most likely used by French Troops in the Franco-Prussian War. Gun is a copy of a Spencer Model 1860 Carbine. Gun is unmarked except for Belgian Liege proof on left side of barrel and Belgian makers proof of "FT" on the tang which probably stands for "Falisse and Trappmann" makers in Liege, Belgium circa 1870. Gun has blued barrel with six groove rifling and blued receiver. Walnut wood stocks with carbine butt, saddle ring bar and sling swivel placement. Fixed front sight with spring activated roller rear sight. CONDITION: Gun retains 60% blue with corners worn to a silvery patina. Wood has remnants of original finish with some usage marks and visible cartouches near tang. Buttplate has magazine with light rust from poor storage. Stock has screws for sling swivel buts swivel is missing. Mechanically solid. DLM
