Serial number 37421 manufactured in 1854, matching numbers on all major components. British proof marks on barrel lug and cylinder. 7-1/2" octagon barrel marked "ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON". Frame and cylinder marked "COLTS PATENT". Letters "M" and "K" marked on left side of trigger guard. Blue with case hardened frame, loading lever, and hammer. Silver plated brass trigger guard and backstrap. One piece varnished walnut grips with unmarked shield inlay on left side. Walnut case fitted in the partition style with blue interior. Correct "COLT PATENT" bullet mold, Hawksley Sheffield powder flask. Eley Bros. percussion cap tin, combination nipple wrench, small pewter oiler, and correct case key. CONDITION: Approximately 95% bright original blue on barrel. 10-15% original blue on cylinder with strong roll die scene. Good scattered case color on frame, loading lever, and hammer turning a clean dove grey patina. Most original silver plating on trigger guard and backstrap beginning to flake. Excellent grips showing minimum wear with most original varnish. Case is excellent with lid beginning to separate from lid frame, could be easily repaired. Interior is bright and clean with moderate wear. Most original finish remaining on bullet mold. Pleasing patina on powder flask. Overall a very clean and attractive early production Model 1851 London Colt Navy. -MKS-
