Manufactured 1861 to 1864. This is referred to as the Model 1855 Sidehammer Pocket Model 5A. 5,600 manufactured with New York barrel address. Five shot, fluted percussion cylinder, spur trigger, full factory nickel finish with ivory grips. Barrel marked "ADDRESS COL. COLT NEW YORK USA". 4 - 1/2" barrel with round loading lever and Navy latch. Fitted in a contemporary oak case with ivory handle push dagger with sheath, Colt eagle powder flask, Eley Bros. cap tin, seven bone dice, ivory spinner, a pack of Great Mogul playing cards, and a blue two cavity bullet mold marked "COLTS/PATENT". CONDITION: Gun retains approximately 60% original factory nickel blending with brown patina. Grips are excellent with mellow patina. Revolver indexes and locks up well. Bore is dark with light pitting. Dagger blade is pitted with no maker mark. Case shows a repair along the lid front. -MKS-
