Manufactured for the U.S. Historical Society to commemorate the duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, which used a pair of Wogdon pistols. Both pistols are identical with small blade front sights, notch rear sights, brass forearms with ferrule for retaining steel ramrod. English push on safeties, finger grip trigger guards, and butts checkered throughout. Locks signed Wogdon, "Wogdon London" on top strap. Both with conspicuous "000A" and "000B" serial numbers on right sides of barrels. Lightly engraved at barrel breech. Plaque in lid reads "Doyle M. Brimberry", likely a previous owner. CONDITION: Very fine, showing only light evidence of handling and operation throughout their existence. Pans with some striking marks on face, and a few spots of age related staining. checkering is still quite sharp on both pistols. Actions work appropriately when gently operated by hand, bores are excellent. Comes in a blue velvet lined case with two extra compartments for shooting accessories, currently filled with an extra trigger mechanism. Case is fine. EW
