A marked rig with a holster bearing the scarce cartouche of "J. S. Collins & Co. / Miles City, M. T." Montana Territory marks are few and far between. The belt is marked with "J. S. Collins & Co. / Cheyenne, Wyo." stamp. A very nice early rig. The holster holds a Colt Model 1877 Thunderer revolver that was manufactured in 1887. Blue and case color gun.Two piece hard rubber checkered grips with the Rampant Colt logo at the top of each grip. The gun works in both single and double action. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard and the back strap. Traces of case color in the protected areas on the frame. Traces of blue in the protected areas. Some pitting and corrosion scattered across the gun. Dark bore with defined lands and grooves. Sharp and crisp checkering on the grips.
