Made in 1890 on a lightened "0" frame with 26" twist barrels that have matted concave rib. Barrel flats marked with patent info and rear lump with "0". Case hardened hammer action is lightly border engraved and engraved with "Parker Bros." on front of lockplates. Small burst of scroll in front of trigger plate on bottom of action. Splinter forend is checkered in diamond pattern with Deeley release and line engraved steel tip. Made with double triggers, extractors, and no safety. The capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in two point pattern through the wrist and terminates with the original Parker Brothers dog's head buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain 95% rich original chocolate colored pattern. Action retains 40% original case color, mostly toned from handling, and was never very bright. The breech face appears quite nice and shows very little evidence of firing, but the color has toned on the bottom of the action to silver. Trigger guard retains about 40% original blue on bow, toned at tang. Stocks are sound, excellent and retain more than 90% original finish with only very minor handling marks. Bores are bright and shiny with some minor orange peel and a couple of light pits toward muzzle, mechanics are crisp. These small bore hammer Parkers are hard to find and this one is particularly nice and original. Especially rare with the "lightening" cuts in the frame. PROVENANCE: From the Carl Balderson Jr. Estate Collection. Purchased from Charlie Barnes in 2001, with PGCA letter that indicates this gun shipped to D.G. Dillon & Co. Wheeling, WV, July 1890. JSL
