(A) DOCUMENTED CONFEDERATE BEAUMONT ADAMS PERCUSSION REVOLVER

The Beaumont Adams was patent in 1856 and immediately adopted by the British Military. It was produced until 1880. The London Armory made these revolvers between 1857 and the early 1860s. Standard features include the octagon barrel, dovetailed front sight, six shot, double action, checkered one piece walnut grips with metal pommel. It is missing the bullet seater and cylinder slide safety. The Adams patent stamp and serial number No. 40929 is on right side of frame. There are numerous British proof marks. This and several other items from the Hyatt estate were sold at auction on Jan. 1, 2023 coming from the private museum of Glenn Hyatt and was located in Falmouth VA. It is noted as having been carried by Elijah Hyatt as a member of C company of the Arkansas 3rd infantry. This revolver comes with numerous affidavits to this effect. CONDITION: Good. Revolver is now a rich dark patina with most of the legends still legible. The grips are excellent and is still mechanically sound in double action only. Bore is still bold and quite bright. Mechanically fine, bore with bright, well defined rifling throughout and some very minor firing residue.
