The Mk II was similar to the Mk I except for the improved trigger was induced in the 1877. Standard rifles of the British military during that period. Single shot military rifle with full length stock, twin barrel bands, cleaning rod, swivels, walnut stocks. CONDITION: Metal is basically a blue-brown patina with sharp legends and numerous British proof marks on both metal on wood. Wood has numerous dings from use. Has strong rifling and a fine action. These rifles came just prior to the Anglo-Zulu War and many saw action in that campaign. You can see rifles from this period being used in the movie Zulu with Michael Caine from 1964. One of the classic guns of the 19th Century British Empire. CORRECTION: Nepalese stamps on right side of stock.
