(A) FINE CASED COLT MODEL 1849 POCKET PERCUSSION REVOLVER (1854).
Dates to 1854. Standard five shot revolver that exhibits all matching numbers to included both the wedge and lever. Standard blue and case color finish with silver plated brass straps and features the roll die stage coach cylinder scene. Octagonal barrel with Colt New York legend stamped on flat. Frame has the two line Colt's Patent stamp. Comes in period line case housing a small brass bag style powder flash, a blued steel nipple wrench, a two cavity brass Colts Patent bullet mold along with a period Eley Bro. cap tin. CONDITION: Fine. Case colors have darkened. Cylinder displays a nearly intact and bold scene with strong safety pins and retains generous blue blending patina. Barrel retains about 70% that is thinning on high edges. Screws still show some blue finish. Most of the trigger guard plating has flaked but at least 70% remains on back strap. Grips are excellent. Mechanically sound with a bright bore. Extremely crisp set.
