One of the more popular and very rugged revolvers of the Civil War, Standard features include: octagon barrel, six shot non-fluted percussion cylinder, blue finish, brass trigger guard, case colored hammer, two piece walnut varnished grips. Barrel legend is sharp as new. Strong remains of case colors on hammer, especially on right side. Brass trigger guard untouched. Grips are excellent to near mint with light high edge wear and perfect cartouche on left grip. All of the Martial acceptance stamps are present. Letter "C" can be found on right side of barrel, frame and cylinder. Letter "W" on left side of barrel and cylinder, "N" on left side of loading lever, and "J" on left side of frame and trigger guard. Bottom of both grips are stamped "J". This revolver saw little actual use and the majority of the wear to finish is simply flaked. Barrel still retains approximately 75% of the original brilliant high polish blue, cylinder retains about 50% of the high polish blue, and the frame retains approximately 35% of the high polish blue. Grips are excellent retaining most of the original varnish. Near mint, shiny bore and perfect action. Far above average and obviously not battle-used. All edge are razor sharp with no holster wear.
