Made with beautiful Pieper "P" Damascus pattern barrels that have matted top rib with small steel front bead. Splinter forend with Anson type pushbutton release is fancifully checkered with flowing border pattern and fully engraved iron. The action is beautifully engraved, most likely by Joseph Loy, with incredibly lifelike ducks on left, and on bottom in marsh scene, and grouse in woods scene on right all surrounded by perfectly executed tight scroll engraving which covers more than 90% of the action. The top of the action is fully scroll engraved as is the blued top lever and top tang with scroll as well. Made with double triggers, auto ejectors, and auto safety. The round knob pistol grip buttstock has fully checkered side panels with arrow behind action and is checkered in four point pattern through the wrist with finely checkered panel behind the grip. The buttstock terminates with lightly scroll engraved and high polished blued heel and toe plates. Blued trigger guard is scroll engraved at bow and serial number at tang. Housed in a modern green canvas and leather appointed case. CONDITION: Excellent as professionally restored throughout to original condition. Barrels retain virtually all of their bold Damascus pattern. Forend with minor losses on sides retains virtually all of its finish, checkering expertly recut. Action retains about 97% of its case color. Buttstock with only very minor handling marks, retains nearly all of its finish, minor loss at toe and around trigger guard tang. Bores are bright with minor orange peel and repaired dents visible. Mechanics are fine, though forend is quite tight. Case is excellent with minor rubs. These guns were glorious when new and this one is a treasure. JTH
