This gun is a reconversion from percussion. Appears to have been altered with a "drum" style bolster which was removed, a plug inserted into the hole and a touch hole drilled into the plug. Some of the lock parts are reproductions. "US/ JH/ P" marked on the barrel. Lock his well marked with standard Johnson markings and an 1837 date. Cartouches on stock are present but hard to see. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina with light surface rust and minor pitting. Markings are good. Stock has numerous glued breaks and repairs but is solid. There is a piece of wood missing from the top rear of the lock cavity. Hammer will not hold at full cock, but does hold at half cock. Bore has pitting. GR
